Hello,

My laptop is HP 1284TU, router is TP-LINK, OS is Windows Vista Home, it's ok to connect wireless networks automatically but always lost connection and cannot view any wireless networks after 1 or 2 hrs. The only solution now is to re-start my laptop and connect again. This situation happens continuously. Can anyone give me advice?

My roommate's ASUS, MAC and my own iphone have no problem to connect.

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Go into Control Panel>Device Manager and right click on Network Adapters then again on the wireless adapter and go to Properties. Under the Power Management tab, untick "Allow the computer to turn this device off to save power" and click Apply then OK your way out. That may help or at least prevent the need to restart.
