Hi I just lost my flash drive meaning I do not physically have it. I never saved my PowerPoint onto my computer hard drive, just the lost flash drive. When I go on PowerPoint I see it in the recent folders, however it won’t let me open it. I’ve done all the recovery steps PowerPoint suggested but still will not open. I have this huge presentation tomorrow. Is there any way to get the file to open so I can save it on my computer?

Solution
If Powerpoint works as Word does and if you saved the presentation a few times during it's preparation, it might be worth open up the system and tick to display Hidden File and untick the system files.

Then go through the documents folder you saved to and with some luck you might find a you file with a $ symbol in front of its name.

I know Word and Excel do this storage of temporary files but I've hardly ever worked in Powerpoint. Good luck.
If you only ever saved it on the flash drive, it is likely going to be lost along with the drive.
In the future, store it on your PC and removable hardware, never just removable hardware.

Also consider using google slides, automatic cloud saves are ideal.
