lost my files.

i had move some .jpeg file C into D drive and save them on a folder. and last night i seen those files are there. but after few hours later today when i open it again i seen files are not in that folder. but propertic shows it's size. then restart pc. and then automatically pc check d drive and show some writing and deleted those files automatically.
what's happened is there?
how can i recover those files?

You need to get in to the habit of keeping backup copies of your files on at least one additional hard drive, even two additional hard drives for backups is not considered to be overkill, given the fact that all hard drives will eventually start losing data until they pack up altogether.

External hard drives are now so reasonably priced and easy to set up, it couldn't be easier. True, they cost money, but what price do you put on your irreplaceable photo memories?

Never, ever save a file without also saving at least one backup of it somewhere else.
