I feel like such a n00b...
I accidentaly set my refresh rate to high and the settings were accepted without asking me to confirm if I really wanted to do that.

How can I get my refresh rate back to normal?
I tried to find out in safe mode but could not find a solution.
Lowering the settings in safe mode does not affect the refresh rate in normal mode although I have read this should work on various other forums and tech sites...

Ohh, have to replace monitor and PC... tsk tsk.

LOL

Just click on desktop, select properties, then settings, then advanced, then monitor tab, then set to what you want.

So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

Well... that would be easy...
In normal mode I have no view at all, my screen goes toe stand by.
In safe mode i did change the refresh rate but that did not affect the normal mode...

You can always uninstall video drivers, then will work with VGA drivers, and have a chance to re-install drivers.

Might be a better way, but this one would work.

I have already uninstalled the catalyst drivers, but no result... what else do I need to uninstall?
The IIyama drivers? How do I do that? They are not accessable in safe mode. In safe mode the pc uses a standard monitor...

Thanks for the help so far!

Hmmm, if you install the Cat drivers back, does it not give you monitor configuration options for monitor?

Sure, but I could not get to them because they are disabled in safe mode, in normal mode the refresh is still to high...

It is not even possible to install CAT in safe mode because windows detects the card as standard PNP card, not an ATI one... CAT won't install when you don't have an ATI card...

Thanks!

Just for future reference all you have to do is go into "VGA mode" instead of safe mode (it is in the same list as safe mode when you hit f8 before windows loads). That will do a normal windows bootup but will kick the graphics down to 640x480 @ 60hz. You can change the settings back up from there.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!
