After a crash with win 7, i had to reinstall it and now found out that i had to reinstall the software for it. I either lost or misplaced my disk for it and tried the Epson site for support but during a search there, it could not list it, but asked for my email and agree to promotional notices, which i did not want, so i decided to say No . Is there anyway that i can get my scanner to be usable again...it worked flawlessly up to the crash. The model is Epson Perfection V30/V300 photo scanner.

Thank u. Since my o p. i found my disc and reinstalled it, but for some reason i cannot get the scan to start, even trying the troubleshooter. I checked your link and its confusing, they keep repeating the downloads, I was wondering shouldn't all the files, including Twain driver be included in the disc that came with it? I don't recall when i first bought this scanner, that i had to download separately a twain driver, and it has been working fine ever since.

The single file likely contains all of the drivers and utility needed. Have you tried installing it?

Also, a restart is likely required afterward to initialize the old Twain drivers (IIRC).

Yes, i tried to install it, but windows doesn't acknowledge it. It powers on and i did try reboot to no avail. I found a twain file under windows\sys folder though. Don't know if its windows gratis or came from my disc.

Uninstall everything completely. Most times installs fail because they look for installed driver versions and skip those entirely if found, not a clean install. The issue with that is if the registry link is broken or the file is corrupted, the installer doesn't care, the version is there.

So to get a full, clean install of every driver, and it's corresponding links and addresses usually requires a clean start, not an over-installation.

Back in the day, you installed the drivers/utility before connecting the device. Have you tried physically disconnecting the device while the PC is on and then reconnecting it?
Right on! I removed the cables as u suggested and the cables and installed the software, reconnected the cables and all went well again...thanks to all here.
