Lost password to my laptop

I was just wondering if there is any way to bypass the password for my laptop. It is running windows 7 and I have not logged into it in a few months so I forgot what the password was. I have tried a tutorial to go into the system 32. I was just wondering if you all could help me in a step by step process to find out how to do this. I do not have any backup to this computer at all either.
