LOST PICTURES

need help,
need to know if anyone can help me with recovering some pics, from hardrive, what happened, was having trouble getting on line, my cpu said : hit button to set to default settings, but when i did this..i was able to connect to internet, but lost all my pictures,,had over 500!!!!..is there any way i ;can recover them..any suggestions woud be much appreciated,,thank you.

Once you are in Windows, just do a search from the Start (bottom left had corner), type in a folder or file name of your pictures. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you deleted a shortcut or something. How did you get to your pics before. Elaborate a bit.
After you find the pictures, buy this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822242018&cm_re=external_hardrive-_-22-242-018-_-Product
...and back up your pictures. You can find other external hdd's on newegg with higher capacity if you like.
