Morning/Afternoon all. I use Discord a lot on my computer and last night when I went to chat with some friends Discord informs me, "Well, it looks like Discord is not detecting any input from your mic, Let's fix that!" This was strange as I've never had this problem before. So I checked the settings, everything is correct, I test it, nothing is being registered. Even uninstalled/reinstalled Discord! I then check my system settings (Windows 10). My Mic is showing in the list of input devices, I do the test there. Same issue, not registering my voice.

I disconnect my mic, plug in my webcam, try it's mic, still nothing. Same for my headset with a mic. Nothing is registering and yet my system sees them all, I can select them but I can't get it to register anything being sed by myself. I've restarted my computer, I installed a virus and malware detector, nothing fixed by any of those and now I'm at a complete loss to what is blocking the use of my mic. I've checked my add/remove programs to see if something in there could be connected but nothing stands out to me.

I even tested it in my browser to see if I can talk through Chrome, nothing.

Check your speaker settings, something like 7.1 often uses the mic jack as one of the speaker outs

Thanks for the reply. I did more digging, found a spot in the sound settings for the Microphone itself that for some reason the whole system had been turned off, thus no longer letting ANYTHING (including Windows) to access my Microphone. Once I discovered this, and reset it. Poof! I can talk to the internet again! No longer just myself. 😀
