A week ago I updated the drivers and I started to smell something burning, and the screen started to turn off when I played Warthunder, then it became more frequent to the point that it turns off with anything I do, (the screen turns off but you can hear the sound of Discord or the game) and then it freezes to restart the PC.

I tried changing the monitor, doing maintenance on the PC (changing thermal paste and cleaning the dust) but it doesn't solve anything, all I have left to do is format Windows or change the GPU

SPECS:
RTX4090 MSI SUPRIM LIQUID 24GB
i9 12900K
32GB RAM 5600mhz
4TB SSD Nvme2
Windows 10 Pro

What is the make/model/age of your PSU?

Was this change on the CPU cooler? What cooler are you using?

As you may have surmised, sounds like a typical heat and/or power issue and why you are getting those questions.

Have you run DISM and SFC to verify the health of your Windows installation?
Im using : NZXT Kraken Z73 360mm - RL-KRZ73-01 - AIO RGB CPU Liquid Cooler - Customizable LCD Display - Improved Pump - Powered by CAM V4 - RGB Connector - Aer P 120mm Radiator Fans (3 Included) ,Black

I don't have a problem with the temperature, but I don't know if it's due to a lack of power from the PSU (I'll try changing the cables to see if that fixes it; the cables may be faulty).

DISM and SFC, I wasn't aware of those programs, I've never used them, so I have to try them and reinstall the drivers of GPU to see if that fixes it.

From this site, which cables melted?

Did you use the 12VHPWR that came with the PSU cable set, or an adapter that came with the GPU to power the 4090?
I used PCIe (6+2Pin) Connector Quantity
per cable 2 PSU to 12VHPWR adapter that came with GPU

The pin of pcie from psu to the adapter was burnt, fortunally the pin of the gpu was intact, i want to know if i can use
ATX 12V (8Pin) cable that came with psu to GPU? look little different to the GPU connector

No, not any of the 8-pin connectors (except those that attach to the motherboard and those are different than the ones used for GPUs).

Look at the PSU link above. There are connectors on the PSU for the 12VHPWR cable that should attach directly to your GPU. That cable can handle up to 600w.

Are you saying you don't have it or it doesn't fit your GPU?
