Lost windows 8.1 Key, what to do

I purchased a copy of 8.1 and I still have the disk but I lost that blue paper thingy that the CD came with. The 8.1 was upgraded to windows 10. I want to completely wipe my SSD and reinstall windows. Is it possible for me to pull the CD KEYS from the windows registry? It is upgraded to win10 so I am completely lost on what I should do

If you are fully updated in Windows 10 and have set up your Microsoft account on it, you no longer need the key. It is tied to your Microsoft ID. Wipe the drive, re-install windows, it will activate automatically when you login with your MS account.

during the install you just have to click skip i dont have my windows key in the set up. after windows installed it should pull the key in by itself.

Absolutely, yes.
You have what is called a digital entitlement. This is a hash of your former 8.1 license and info from your hardware.

Install, and when it asks for the license key, "I don't have a product ID" at the bottom of that window.
It will activate itself when the system goes online.
