Question Loud bang from computer then shut down

So I was afk from my pc when i heard a loud bang/pop come from my now 3 months old new build. Went into the room and everything was shut down and would not boot up again, no lights on mother board and no fans spinning, complete deadness. Did my PSU blow up? It didnt smell or anything. will all my other parts be fried?

im sending the psu back to where i bought it from so they can test it. it was a corsair 850w tx850

I would expect you might be able to sniff around and smell something burnt. Sniff the PSU...does it smell burnt?

Thats the thing it didnt smell overly burnt like I wouldve expected?

Can you provide me the lot code off the PSU? I need to forward this along to someone at Corsair.

That should be the first seven digits of the serial number. It's on the box and the PSU itself.

Bbarely any smell. i plugged an old psu in to and everything works fine. obviously the psu failed but id love to know why so i know its not on my end,

i bought it from scan.co.uk and I have sent it back to them for testing.
