Loud computer after RAM upgrade

Greetings;

Anyway, after putting new RAM (2x2gb DDR2), my PC is significantly louder than before, it's like a small airplane now, while before you could only hear the HDD clicking.
Before the upgrade, there were 2x512mb sticks (SS) and one 1gb stick (DS) - if that is relevant in any way.
I opened the case to see where the noise is coming from, and I believe it is the GPU fan working like hell. Another change I noticed after the upgrade is that, in the task manager, it is shown that the CPU usage is fluctuating in wierd ways, most of the time it shows 0% usage, or under 5-6%.
The computer recognizes the new RAM, no problem there.
A person with the same problem, as I read, solved it by updating the BIOS, but since this is the latest version (2008., go figure), that's not an option.

Configuration:
Mobo: GA-EP31-DS3L
CPU: Intel E8400 3,00Ghz
GPU: Radeon HD 4870 1GB DDR5
RAM: 2x 2 GB DDR2 Transcend 800Mhz

Try running Memtest and see if you have everything connected properly- you may have bumped a connector.

I ran GPU-z, it says:
- GPU Load: 0% (sometimes 1)
- GPU Temp. (DISPIO) - around 60 C
- GPU Temp. (MEMIO) - around 74 C
- GPU Temp. (Shadercore) - around 64 C

Measured while just browsing and using utorrent.
CPU temp. is around 55 C. I believe that's a lot higher than before, if I remember correctly, where it used to be around 30.

Dont think ram would do that, maybe a server board would.

1st take the ram out does it change back? If yes then the board may be changing a bios setting to compensate.

Probably a fan speed knob inside the case. Sometimes a adjustable switch. You probably switched it to a higher setting.

Also could be wires rubbing one of the CPU, Case, or PS fans.

Please check temperatures under load, like I said. Idle temperatures or not that interesting
CPU temperature while in bios or running prime95 with realtemp
Gpu temperature with "furmark" burn in

Check the CPU cooler, if it's still in the right position and mounted correctly. Reapply thermal paste if not.

Turns out that a lot of dust managed to come in while I was putting the new RAM, cleaned it up and it's a lot quieter. Not as quiet as before, but bearable.
