2 days ago I was playing Overwatch (surprisingly, my computer does run it somewhat okay) and I accidentally knee-kicked my CPU when I pulled up my chair, and that's when the problem started. My computer made a very quick loud fan noise for about a second and my screen went black and gave me the "no signal" message, but the CPU was still running without any odd noises. Okay, since the PC wasn't responding I turned it off by holding down the power button for a few seconds and when it turned on again, it asked to repair my HD. After that, the PC turned on but the screen went black again and nothing would bring it out of the inactivity. So I rebooted my PC again and managed to log onto Windows, but it was much slower than usual for about 5 minutes. I checked my temperatures and all and everything looked normal, so I tried launching the game again and as soon as the graphics loaded after the login screen, my computer again made a loud fan noise for about a second and shut off the screen. It was late at night so I just let it be and I would look into it in the morning.
What I have tried already:
After some research, I opened my CPU to see if any cables were loose, I cleaned it from all the dust (I usually keep it clean, so there wasn't much dust, I did get some out of the video card fan though), but everything else looked normal. I made sure all the connected cables were firmly connected and before I turned it back on, I followed a suggestion I saw on Reddit of a guy saying to unplug all the cables and hold the power button for a minute and plug it all back, but no luck either.
I didn't overclock anything, HOWEVER I did have the video card fan speed set up to a higher speed for Overwatch (at 70% speed) and I noticed before this accident that sometimes even after I closed the game, the fan would still go on on that speed. I tried turning off that manual fan speed as well to see if that could be the problem.
Important: it's now also happening randomly, not just when I launch the game. I tried viewing a picture on my PC and the same thing happened: loud fan noise, black screen. I tried switching monitors, and with the other monitor the loud fan noise + black screen would happen as soon as I turned the PC on, with both HDMI and "normal" inputs in that monitor. It also happened as I edited this message (thankfully I was fearing that could happen and managed to save it before I got the black screen again).
I had Razor Cortex power settings on, and I removed that and went back to High Performance settings, and when I tried launching the game after that, the display still went off but no loud noise. Whenever the display went to sleep mode (before I changed those options today to avoid this from happening again), the loud noise would happen and nothing would bring it out of the inactivity either.
Here's my PC info, let me know if anything else is required:
OS: Windows 10 64 bits
RAM: 4GB
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 270 Processor (2 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series
Monitor: AOC 912Vwa (connected to the video card output)
Motherboard: GA-78LMT-S2P
PSU: I have no idea, because I didn't assemble this PC, the guy from the shop said that he would put a regular one to go with my specs that would be enough to play games, and it never failed me for over the years. I don't understand much about hardware yet, so please forgive me for not knowing.
Thank you in advance for any response!
Irrelevant: I know my PC is prehistoric, I do wanna buy a new one eventually but I still need this one, even if I'm not gonna be able to play games or anything. I've been wanting to get a new one for a while, but not enough money so...
