Hi,
For a couple of days my hard drive have been producing a lot of noise when starting up. It starts up nicely without any problems, and the noise disappears once it's done loading windows, to which it never makes the noise again until I turn it off for a long period (couple of hours or so) and turn it back on.
If I restart or shut down the PC for a little while (if I'm changing some of the hardware inside etc.), there's no noise.
Not sure what the problem could be. It's usually quite cold in the mornings when I turn it on, but I don't think it'd be enough to affect it. The CPU is usually sitting on 30 degrees idle during those times.
I should still have a warranty on the hard drive, as my old one broke down about 7 months ago, so replacing it isn't a big deal economy wise.
Any suggestions would be very much helpful, and I can bring additional information if needed.
Cheers,
Philrow
