My sc2 is making a loud hissing noise out of one fan only. only at high loads does it do this and by high loads I mean a fast spinning fan -- it is loud. I know its this one fan because ill stop it with my hand and the hissing noise will go away. I took the fan off and took it apart, then greased the bearings but it still does this. The only thing I can think of is its the spring inside the fan that goes between the fan and the gpu (this spring is inside the fan assembly.) I may go in and re-position the spring. any suggestions?...any advice on what this loud hissing noise is is much appreciated.

Solution
So a quick search online reports this as being a known issue for some EVGA cards. For some, the fix was to reseat the fan bearing.

"Pull the card, place it on something like cardboard and place direct pressure down on the center of the fan to see if it reseats the fan bearing. Don't press overly hard, but do put some pressure on it. The bearings can be off just a touch and cause a 'grinding ' noise." -CoercionShaman

It's not coil whine because its a single pitch and sounds like sand in the bearings - which only happens when the fan is at high speeds
