Hello, recently my laptop started making some weird buzzing noises and freezes in between Dell logo and windows logo. This happens on the first boot of the day and I have to restart it a few times until there's no sound coming out. If it doesn't make the sounds = it will boot,if it makes the sound = it won't boot.As I mentioned, this happens only when I start my laptop after not using it for a few hours. If it goes through the booting process the noise won't appear until the next time I start my pc.Already double-checked if the screws around the cooler/heatsink are tight

Might be worth be testing the hard drive to see what it's state of health is. Use the drive maker's own diagnostic software for DOS which loads from a bootable CD (you can't test the system drive properly with Windows-based software).

For WD drives, the link to the CD image is on this page: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/topic/63494-looking-for-western-digital-data-lifeguard-iso/

For all other drive brands you can use either SeaTools: http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-dos-master/

or HGST Drive Fitness Test: http://www.hgst.com/support/downloads/legacy-downloads#DFT

To create a CD from a CD image you can use IMGBurn: http://filehippo.com/download_imgburn

Thanks alot for the answer.I'll try what you said

Hello,I ran Seatools but for Windows(the one for DOS didn't work,i burned the image correctly but a text with a weird font appeared saying something along the lines of "bd:can't open") and the Long Generic test failed for some reason. Also did a chkdsk /R and there was a message that said something like "Replaced bad clusters for memory.dmp".Thanks in advance
