Over the last few weeks my pc has started making a loud vibrating whirring noise.
It starts the second I power up.
I've tested all of the fans by stopping them with my finger, the noise persists.
I've unplugged my HDD drive and started my computer, the noise persists.
When I put my hand on the back of my pc the vibrations feel like they are coming from the top corner near the DVD drive. But when I unplugged it and pulled it out the noise persisted.
It's almost as if the motherboard itself is what's making the noise, but it's screwed down firmy and doesn't move.
Does anyone have any idea for what I should try checking next?
It's an old self built pc but I recently upgraded and most of the components are less than 6 months old.
