low 3d mark score?

Hi all, i recently ran 3d mark2000 and i have to say i'm real dissapointed with my score, i ran the default benchmark and only scored 4421, is this low for my system?
duron 800
128mb@ 100mhz
radeon 64mb ddr

I've heard that 6000-8000 was about average, so why is mine so low? Is it my radeon vid, or the drivers?
I heard that someone doubled there scores's just by changing there drivers, i'm currently using version 4.13.7041 but which drivers are the best?

Just to give you a reference, my PIII @ 558Mhz with 124mhz FSB and 192MB RAM and TNT2Ultra at 175core/183mem gives a solid 3016 at 1024@16bits with Vsych off using the 2.17 Nvidia drivers (which still outperform the newer ones on this card). I think you are on the right track with the driver issue and Radeons. Research the posts for your chip and see if you can find the site where the others have found their drivers that fixed things.

I am getting 6000 with a geforce 2 mx on a 1gig t-bird of course that’s with the video card over clocked I get 4800 stock

I get 2500 with my tnt2 cause my p3 500 is the bottle neck.

Did you get the via 4in1 updates, make sre your bios and everything else is updated. Are you running win2k? If so your speed will be down a bit anyway. That is why my score is a little low too.

I got a 4410 with a Duron 700 and 256 Megs (PC133). Im using a Geforce2 MX vid card. And my voodoo3 does about 3600 on average in that same system. So yep, something is definitely wrong.

I have a comparable system to you but even after good 'ole overclocking (your duron should do more then my PIII800EB) at 1024*768*16 - default I get 5755, the second highest computer with an 800EB and Radeon 64DDR) - so don't think 6000 will be a piece of cake.

BTW - My fsb is at 148 (PIII@888)
and my radeon @ 210

your score does not seem that off base. I got 5500 with a Athlon 800, gf2 32, and 256 megs. I think 6000 would be a really high score for your system.

I get 4800 -> 4900 on a Radeon 32 SDR, and that's only using AGP 2x and Win2000pro so I'd think a Radeon 64 DDR in AGP 4x under Win9x should do considerably better.

a couple questions about your system. what mobo are you using and what os?(win me,98se,nt) i've heard of problems with win me and the radeon's drivers, if that's what you have. your score does seem a little low. i run the default test with a 800mhz duron, 256mg pc-133, asus a7v, win 98se, and a leadtek geforce ddr rev. b and i get a score of like 5100.

Run the 3dMark2001 test which is a better test of the Radeon. 3dMark2000 really doesn't mean to much.
