Have you ever thought about lowering BCLK and increasing multiplier? Any success?

For example 60Mhz BCLK and 70x multiplier to get 4.5Ghz instead of 100MHz and 45x multiplier

The advantage of lower BCLK (if it works) is wider frequency range and lower power consumption when idle.

There could be drawbacks as well but it must be benchmarked.

I am interested in Skylake and newer chipsets where BCLK only affects CPU/Cache/RAM

there are other things in the system that depend on this clock rate besides the cpu. it is used to sync many aspects of the pc such as ram and so on.

never seen it but no idea what kind of effect such a low clock would have on the rest of the system and could these other dependent parts be able to cope as well. lots to consider beyond what the cpu would do.
