Low budget laptop to run Minecraft and Steam

The only big game I play is Minecraft and my brother's laptop can't handle it. But I can play League just fine with the lowest settings. I wanna find something that will run Minecraft smoothly. I have a few games on Steam so if I could play those too, that'd be so awesome. I'm not going too hard on the gaming concept but really what can handle games here and there. My budget is hopefully under $1K.
