Low bugdet gaming cpu

I want to buy a low bugdet cpu and i am between the g3258 and fx 6300. which is best? i am total noob so to some of you this guestion is stupid but plz bear with it and answer me. thank you

What games you trying to play and with what gpu

gpu i have the gtx 960. as for games i want to play thief skyrim diablo dishonored 2 and injustice

I would get the g3258 its got much better single core strength and if you decide you want more power you can take it back and go up to an i5 and still use the same mobo

isnt the 6300 better for gaming since it has 6 cores vs 2 cores? i know that having many cores(6-8) doesn't mean its better than 4 but arent 2 cores a bit low?

There is a misconception that more cores is better but the single core strength is much more important right now. Google your cpu of choice and look at benchmarks and you will see. But there are games that do love more cores there are just less of them.

for example g3258 come after the 6300. thats why i am confused althougth i heard the best for g3258. also those are the games i want to play no bf4 or crysis maybe a assasin creed. so with a dual core i am ok?

yep and when its not good anymore you can just swap the chip not the chip mobo combo
