Low cell phone tether speeds

My phone gets decent enough bandwidth for itself but when I try to use it as a hotspot or USB tether my PC is only able to get about 60 KB/s Max. Anyone have any insights about this?

Your cellular provider may be throttling you. If both hotspot and USB tethering are limited, then your cellular provider is probably responsible.
