Low connection speed and low FPS when friend joins game

Just trying to prove a point to my friend that internet connection has nothing to do with the actual FPS values because he is saying that every time i join into his game he gets low FPS.
we were playing r6 siege and he had around 30 ping and 44 fps i had 150 ping with 70 fps, and he was complaining about me slowing down his internet speed and the speed that his computer is running at i have an i5-7500, 16gb ram and a gtx 1050ti while he has on board graphics and like 8 gb ram, i dont know his exact specs....

Doesn;'t warrant a "poll" type setup IMO.

Internet connection alone will not impact FPS. A poor connection can produce choppy/slow/lag effects, which would mimic poor FPS results in some instances.
