Case = CM Storm Trooper Full ATX (2 fans on front pulling, 1 fan in rear pushing, 2 on top for radiator pushing through the rad out the top of the case)
MB = Asus M5A99FX Pro 2.0
CPU = AMD FX-8350
Cooler = Corsair H100 Liquid Cooling Kit w/ Corsair SP120 High Performance Fans

Was about to start OC but noticed under stress test in Prime the socket temps were getting up to 52 degrees while the core was only 33....

that is a big difference considering the socket temps should only be 5-10 degrees difference right?

I have already removed the H100.. cleaned off the Thermal paste and re-applied it. tightened as far as I could get by hand.

I took the side panel off where I could put a box fan facing the back of the MB and have noticed this helps a little. roughly 5 degrees cooler on the socket.

this is not a reasonable solution lol i need a better one.

edit::: under load for 10 minutes and still at 47C....

I am thinking about cutting a small hole on the side of the case directly behind the CPU and putting a small 80-100mm High CFM exhaust fan on the side of the case.

Might experiment with it blowing on the back of the cpu as well as exhausting the hot air that is getting trapped between the side panel and the back of the CPU/Motherboard.

maybe one directly behind the CPU blowing cool air in to the back of it and another small exhaust fan 3-4" below that to draw the air out?

I see that this is a common problem and I can't find where anyone has really come up with a solution like this. but just testing this theory with a big box fan with the side panel off the temps were about 5-9 degrees cooler with a fan blowing on the back of the MB.
