Low cost color laser printer?

I'm in the market for a low cost color laserprinter. it won't get
used a lot, maybe 100 prints per month but it defiantly needs to be in
color. I'll probably get an used color laser but I'd like feedback or
suggestion.

Someone is trying to sell an HP 4550 but I don't think it's even worth
the trouble unless it's free.

I'm not up on the latest printers. I have an HP 4600 which I suspect is
the replacement for the 4550. Even if the 4550 was free, it wouldn't be
free!

The HP 4600 is a wonderful printer, now replaced by the HP 4650. I got a
good deal on mine a year ago. It was the demo model in a local office
supply store. However it can get expensive to operate. It came with
"starter" toner cartridges that were only 25% full. A set of 4 OEM toner
cartridges cost around $800, which is more than I paid for the printer.

Before you decide on a particular model, I suggest you find out the cost
of supplies.

At only 100 pages a month, I'd probably go with a Xerox 6xxx/Samsung
5xxx which you can get for about £200, running costs will be more than
for a more expensive printer, but at the amount of printing you are
looking at the initial toners it come with should last a year, one set
of replacements (which are probably larger capacity) would probably last
two years. Then three years down the road there will be an opportunity
to see how the market, the technology and your needs have progressed.
