hey....
i just wanna know if it's worth to upgrade from my old celeron cpu to a core 2 duo even though it's still old by now
my gpu is also not great ( gt440 msi)
the thing is that i am not interested in new games and stuff.... i ONLY play one game ( Dota 2) which doesn't really require a high end gpu to be played in decent graphics and fps and i think that my gpu is enough
so WOULD UPGRADING TO CORE 2 DUO INCREASE MY FPS DECENTLY ?? cause i am only getting a max of 20 fps right now.
p.s : this upgrade is all i can afford 😀
thank you in advance.

Solution
The Celeron D 347 is a very weak CPU... it's benchmark results compare it to older Socket 478 Pentium 4 mid end CPUs and even to the even older Pentium III higher end CPUs... A Core2 Quad Q9550 (supported*) would increase performance up to 14 times. See comparison here:

Before we can really answer that question we need to know the exact model of your current CPU and motherboard. The fact that you're thinking of upgrading to a Core 2 Duo means that you must be on the LGA 775 socket, and also means that 2.7GHz is the fastest that your current CPU can be (Celeron E3500). I'd agree that the GT 440 is fine for Dota 2 and that your CPU is holding you back, but we need more info to know for sure.

my motherboard is Asrock G 41M-S so yeah i am on the LGA 775
and my CPU model is Celeron D 347 (512K cache, 3.6 Mhz )

*The BIOS may require updating to support the Q9550 but it is included in the compatible CPUs list and Ark.Intel information confirms it.
