I'm looking to get into pc gaming by making a budget pc with 2nd hand components. The HP pavilion a6551.nl is a dutch exclusive system with a IPIBL-LB motherboard. It should be compatible with a modded xeon x5450 since it's a 775 socket with an intel g33 express chipset and it's compatible with the core 2 quad q9650. The graphics card should fit even if it's dual socket i think (don't quote me on that) and the psu is standard size and should be replacable with a higher wattage one when needed. The pc has 6 gigabytes of ddr2 ram and can be expanded to 8gb (4× 240 pin slots). Would this be a capable low end gaming pc? And is it worth around €150,-?

xeon x5450 will extremely bottleneck you in higher end games. Maybe try looking for a used dell machine with 8 gigs of ram and a i7-2600.

Do not get a Xeon X5450. I have one overclocked at 3.5GHZ, gets very hot and performs pretty bad in games. I used to have an r7 360 and it bottlenecked even that, The r7 360 and gtx 750ti are basically neck to neck. I now have a rx 570 while I'm slowly upgrading my PC and there's a huge bottleneck. Try getting a cheap sandy bridge CPU, even an i5 2400 is a good pair for the 750ti.

I was looking at those. They seem good to begin with and pc's with i5 3,0+ ghz cpu's seem to be affordable. Even with 8-12 gb Ram. And since it's a 1155 socket MoBo. It's easily upgradable. Thx.
