Low-end roundup at DriverHeaven

While I wouldn't recommend any of these cards to anyone considering an 'add-in card', DriverHeaven benches the cards that no one will admit to owning except for 2D work.

Too bad they didn't take the 9550 128bit version ... $75 and 9600 core easily overclockable.

Even the 64-bit version won every single resolution/setting on every game, even OGL. It was a total no contest. I was surprised to see how well it did. What would help me more is to have seen a bar with a card I know like a Ti4200 or Radeon 9600 Pro, just to get an idea how the 9550 compared to them in each of the tests. But based on the 5200, the 9550 wasn't too bad at all. Looks like the 9550 is a nice card for a "mom and dad" computer that Jr. might play occational games on.

I was quite surprised a 64-bit 9550 did that well. The NV 5500 once again shows how people who step up in numbers without knowing anything often downgrade. What a waste of a card.

Just in case, I have updated an old thread here with some benchmarks. The best is that the core overclock very easy, getting a 9600np for 9550 price.
