low fps 970sli

so i have a i5 4690k and 970sli, when playing far cry 4 and assassins creed unity, i notice my fps is lower than what i see on youtube(my i5 is overclocked to 4.0)
i noticed on ACU i was sometimes dropping to 40fps which wasnt any different than when i had a single 970.. is this normal?

Did you enable SLI in the Nvidia control panel and got the bridge fitted correctly?

i did, in some games i def see improvement like BF4 and Tomb Raider.. and others.. but in some.. i didn't.
