Question Low FPS after upgrading RAM

Hello.

Originally I had DDR3 2x2GB 1333Mhz RAM sticks. My game's FPS was quite normal for me, but right after I changed these 2x2GB sticks to 1x8GB with the same speed, FPS dropped a lot. I tried to put one previous stick (2 GB) to make dual-channel, but it didn't change anything.

There are 2 RAM slots in my motherboard (ASRock H61M-HVS) supporting up to 1600 MHz, but my processor (Intel Pentium G630) only supports 1067 Mhz.

What can I do?

This could be due to not using dual channel memory why did you not get 2x4GB?

At first, it was a cheaper option, and as I read in many forums, it wouldn't make such a huge difference, so I just bought a one stick. Now I'm using a 10 GB dual-channel but I see no difference in FPS.

Hm not sure if that would have to do with mismatching or not, how much has performance fallen?

I didnt' see any difference in every aspect of PC's performance, neither better or worse, only in FPS. I played NBA 2K14 and before the FPS was around 60, but now it's decreased to, I don't know, 30 maybe.

You have to put identical sticks in channels A and B to get dual channel.
You lost that when you took one of your 2GB sticks out and put in the 8GB one - it's running in single channel now.

Use the identical stick of ram. You used 8gb and a 2 gb stick which means the dual channel is broken. Better if you can get 2 stick of 4gb memory. you will see good performance.
