Hi

I just build my first PC and I'm experiencing a lot lower FPS than my 5-year old laptop. In Apex it appears to working alright with an average of 150-200 fps in 1080p on high settings. But in CSGO (on low settings!) I am having a constant 150fps sometimes down to the 90 fps mark. On very few occasions it will show 300fps, but only when looking into a wall.

The computer is:
  • MSI VENTUS 3070 2x OC
  • AMD 5600X CPU
  • Gigabyte Aorus B550i Pro
  • 32GB ram (Corsair LPX Vengeance 3200mhz)
  • 1TB Samsung 970 EVO NVME drive.
  • PCIE 3.0 setting in BIOS as I am using a 3.0 Riser Cable
I have updated all drivers (MOBO drivers from Gigabyte website, CPU Bios is newest, GPU with GeForce experience). Ram is set to 3200mhz in bios. V-sync is OFF. FPS_MAX is unlimited. G-sync I have tried both on/off.

Highest temperature achieved has been 68c on CPU. PSU is barely ever spinning, GPU has 43c and almost doesn't activate its fans.

NVIDIA Experience Performance overlay says
"CPU Utilization 30%"
"GPU Utilization 26%"

I have no idea when the computer is extremely underperforming? Should it not be using max to boost FPS?

EDIT: Every now and then it seems my temperature rises on GPU and then falls - see photo:

I am running into the same issue here . Fresh build on fresh OS with similar parts. FPS in PUBG @ 1440p won't go any higher than 100 fps. Setting to very low settings does not give any FPS gains. From researching this a bunch, the issue seems to be related to Nvidia drivers not being optimized for certain games causing performance loss. I know from watching Youtube Benchmark videos with an identical system, I should be getting 150+ FPS in PUBG no problem with what I have.

@1440p
Other games like CSGO and Overwatch run perfectly fine 200-400 fps
COD WZ plays decent, getting 100-150 fps
COD Cold War. Avg fps seems to be around 100 and in Zombies drops to 60-70 fps
Insurgency Sandstorm - similar situation to PUBG, only getting 90-100 fps

UserBenchmarks: Game 153%, Desk 107%, Work 142%
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X - 101.4%
GPU: ASUS DUAL Nvidia RTX 3070 - 150.6%
SSD: WD Black SN750 NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB (2019) - 304.1%
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB - 311.7%
SSD: WDC WDS200T2B0A-00SM50 2TB - 100.5%
RAM: G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3600 C14 2x8GB - 103.6%
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX X570-I GAMING

Hoping Nvidia's next driver update will address and fix this. Or possibly PeetuB may be able to help?
