Low fps ASUS ROG LAPTOP

My system: Asus g501jw. Gtx 960m, intel i7 4720hq 16gb ddr4 ram, windows 10 64 bit. I've had my laptop for 6 months now and i recently noticed very low frame rates on overwatch and bf1. i get 40-55 fps on overwatch lowest setting 80% render scale, while my friend with same specs get 200fps on medium settings. and ive messed around with geforce experience, enabled anything that could give better fps and reinstalled the drivers for the graphics card. i am using the gpu but still get low fps. does anybody know a fix for this?

I am on the latest driver, temperature about 73c and im plugged in.

I just checked, i am not using the Windows 10 creator update. Should i update to it?

no just checking because there is a windows 10 game mode thats mess things up.how is your cpu and gpu usage in games?is your cpu/gpu running at full clock?

No, i just found my issue. When i start games my clock goes from 1079mhz to 405mhz and sometimes down to 297mhz
