Low FPS DayZ i5 3570k r9 270x

So basically I get low FPS when playing dayZ, 20-30 on average, and as low as 12 when in cities, and it can even drop to 2 for seconds. I realise that the game isn't optimised, but I feel like on normal settings I should be achieving 40FPS+. Anyone have any ideas? I've already searched google and pretty much done everything such as setting start perimeters etc. Thanks in advance

The game is still in Steam Early Access, so you shouldn't expect anything.

Not really.

What you expect to get and what you'll actually get, performance-wise, from an unfinished game have no correlation at all.

Besides toning down the graphics and ensuring that you have the most recent version of DayZ and the most recent drivers for your graphics card, there's not much else you can do. The game is incomplete, let alone optimised, and performance issues are to be expected.

Silly answer

It's actually not a silly answer. You've said you get low FPS on a game that hasn't been optimized and mentioned no problems in any other game. So the problem is likely the lack of optimization.

Sorry for putting it bluntly, I may also have said that some who has a lesser system than mine (i3 2120 HD 7770) gets more FPS, and someone with the exact same specs as me gets more FPS?
