low fps fx4100

I have a computer that no matter the gpu I put into it, the fps is just super low and I would like some info on what could be the bottleneck.

specs are
fx4100 cpu
8gb ddr3 1333
gigabyte 78lmt-s2 motherboard
evga gtx650
Seagate 1tb hard drive
thermaltake 430w power supply

The problem I am having is with the game infestation. I have tried several different things to increase the fps but it never seems to go above 35 on the lowest settings.

Things I have tried
evga gtx 580 3gb
evga gtx 660ti 2gb
corsair 8gb ddr3 1600
thermaltake 850w power supply

I know it must either be the cpu or the motherboard holding it back, because my other two computers with intel cpu's run the game at full 60 fps everywhere on the map.

I am thinking about getting the fx6300 cpu and see if that helps but I would like to know if maybe the motherboard is what is holding it back. Thanks for any help

The FX-4100 is indeed vastly holding back the graphics cores.

You should get the 6300. Don't even look back at Bulldozer. It was a colossal failure.

+1, I had a FX 6200 Bulldozer and it was terrible. The FX 6300/8320/8350 will be much better.

Seems like a relatively budget board but it's listed to work with the FX 6300 so you should be fine as long as you don't go crazy with overclocking or something.

id go with the asus m5a97 r2 its $85 a great board for the cost even though u have a am3+ board that probably supports the 6300. If u want a new board go for it but u dont need one.

He also might have OEM windows so that may cause extra cost too. If you're going to upgrade mobo might as well go for a nice 990 board that's better for OCing and has more features.

I don't wanna upgrade the motherboard if I don't have to so I will try the 6300 first and see what happens.

the fx 6300 should work as all revisions support it, just make sure ur bios is at F5 or higher
