Low FPS in Battlefield 1 and other games

Hello. I have a dell inspiron 7577 laptop with a GTX 1060 Max-q and i5-7300HQ. I have
8gb of ram. My FPS in Battlefield 1 has been pretty low, with frames dropping to below 60 on medium settings. CPU is always at 100% while GPU is at 50-70%. On battlefield 4 on Ultra the fps is usually 60-80, when others are getting 90+. The Temps are pretty low. I have latest drivers and I've seen other people with the same laptop getting a solid 60+ fps. I have my laptop always plugged in and set to high performance. I have almost no background applications running in the background. Can anyone possibly help me with this. I know this is a CPU bottleneck, but how come I see others running the game way better than I am with the same specs?

There are other factors. 16Gb of RAM can help by reducing the caching to and from the HDD/SSD, also in this scenario a slower drive can have an impact.

What is your cpu speed when it’s at 100% usage? You could have some light thermal throttling.

Bottom line is BF1 brings desktop quad core CPU’s to their knees, a laptop quad core is much weaker.

Also don’t trust YouTube videos if that’s what you are comparing too.

that difference may come from 4 things:
1. cooling. Your home might be hotter, they MIGHT have replaced stock paste to something like krionaut ETC.
2. ram. 8 GB stick is not enough for most games AND single channel VS dual channel might do a lot.
3. background. WIndows crap will install and work using CPU without any warning. Antyvir will scan game ale the time.
4. HDD vs SSD or even SSD vs NVME SSD. Double check what is their configuration before judging.

There is no judgement in my statement? Just outlining other general factors that can impact performance when comparing systems.

CPU at idle is 6%. CPU Temps under load with undervolt with many games are under 80c but without undervolt in many games go usually to 80-85c.
