Low FPS in certain games.

Hello, I have had my current build for a while now and I am getting piss poor FPS in certain games and I cannot figure out why.

Games I should be able to run like Black flag, Hawken, Next Car Game, League of Legends, Counter strike Go, any Unreal Engine game gives me sub 60FPS, while my friend with a nearly identical build gets up to 3 or 4 times more FPS than me.

I have tried multiple drivers, multiple OS's (W7, W8, W8.1, W10 Preview), and I have tried to remove as many variables as possible, but I still cannot figure out why my PC can't play some games.

My synthetic benchmarks are right where they should be, and I beat out my friend's build. But in a large amount of games I am chugging at 20-30fps, while he is hitting the FPS cap at 120+.

Please somebody help me.

AMD FX-8350 @ 4.5GHz - 1.35v
HIS AMD Radeon R9-290x
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Revision 4.0
20Gb RAM
840 Evo 120Gb
Corsair CX 750M

My friend's build:
AMD FX-8320 @ 4.2GHz
ASUS AMD Radeon R9-290
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Revision 4.0
8Gb RAM
Caviar Blue 1Tb

Try your game settings from Low, then work your way up and see if that helps. Also what resolution are you playing at? Monitor? Are you using like 4X MSAA? V-Sync? The video game settings could be what is causing it.

Try your game settings from Low, then work your way up and see if that helps. Also what resolution are you playing at? Monitor? Are you using like 4X MSAA? V-Sync? The video game settings could be what is causing it.

All In game settings are the same.

My FPS barely goes up if I turn my settings down, too.

Ask your friend to borrow his card and see if that helps, it could be a faulty card? Check your cards clock speed and everything.
