Hey guys, just installed CSGO and i'm getting fps of 40 on average. I have tried playing around with the settings (didn't make much difference) and my CPU, GPU temperatures are fine . Also, in other games such as League of Legends i sit on 100+ fps on max settings.

My specs are
CPU: i5 7500
RAM: 8gb
MB: asus b250m-a
GPU: gtx 1050 ti
What could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Okay i feel really stupid. I've found out what the problem was. So I had my graphics card properly connected to my monitor. However, I also plugged in the VGA cable to my motherboard, which was causing the problem. Took that out. Now i have a steady 300 fps on CS and 350 fps on LoL.

Ohh so this is normal? Because every youtube video i've seen of the 1050 playing csgo, their fps would be closer to 150

I don't even get 90 fps when i change the settings to lowest with 1280 x 600 resolution. Would optimization help or could this possibly be a hardware problem? I have just built my PC and it is less than 2 weeks old.

Both I would guess. You probably need to use ddu and fresh new drivers for the video card. There is a driver bug that sticks the video memory to low. Also dont use all the lowest settings. That forces your CPU to do GPU work. Use mid atleast. CSGO loves RAM also so get 8GB's more.

I've just reinstalled the drivers, using what you suggested. However, the results are the same. I'm still stuck with 40 average fps.

You may need to fix your reg and other stuff a bit more. Try ccleaner and advanced systemcare. These can clean your reg, scan for bad settings, and shutdown unneeded services with boost. They both are in the popular downloads.

He did in fact explain what his issue was. He had his monitor attached to his motherboard, completely bypassing his GTX 1050 Ti. He simply moved the cable. Your issue is probably something different. Have you tried reinstalling your GPU driver using DDU as was suggested earlier in this thread?

Wait so did you plug in your VGA cable, which then allowed your fps to be higher? in other words, having to output sources from the PC to the monitor?
