Hello Tom's Hardware! I've been having trouble getting my PC to run where I want it to. Even simple games such as League of Legends and CS:GO, on all settings, I have to suffer 40-60 FPS. With my current hardware I feel I should be getting much higher FPS. I cannot figure out what is causing this slow frame rate. Does this seem normal considering my hardware?

It's that CPU, that is a slow and old cpu for what you need. I recommend getting a FX6350 at least or even better a FX 8320.

EDIT: Just realized those are older games you mentioned, they should be running fine.

Have you updated the BIOS, graphics card drivers, and windows updates?

Hello and thanks for the quick reply. My graphics card and OS are up to date but I've never updated my BIOS. Opening my system info I can see BIOS version 1503 11/14/2012.

There is a newer version however it states: "If your motherboard BIOS version number is greater than the BIOS version listed above, then you will not need to flash your BIOS. However, if your BIOS version is smaller than the version listed above, then you will need to select and download the latest BIOS to update your system." The BIOS version listed above is number 1401, mine being 1503, yet the newest one available is 1701. Do you think I still need to update BIOS?

why is your ram 800mhz.. why so slow?

Sorry, Speccy shows the frequency for only one stick I'm really at 1600mhz right now.

one thing is that he has better cpu than yours... you need to oc your cpu to see if it fixes the issue... i hope you have a good cooler.... also check your temps after 20 mins while gaming... cpu and gpu ..report back

When playing your games, are you running them with "SYNC every frame"...I have the same Vid card and I get much better fps and I run with higher specs for the game...just uncheck that in every game you play (I believe BF has it automatically unchecked).

Next...when was the last time you cleaned out the fans and inside of the case. If its dusty, get some compressed air and clean it out (DO NOT DO THIS PLUGGED IN)..if you aren't sure how to do this, look on youtube

and finally...have you checked for virus/malware/adware...this would slow you down as well. Also if you have programs running in the background can cause you fps problems...

As for he CPU..it COULD use an upgrade.

Hope this helps..
