Hi there. I have an Asus G15 gaming laptop (Ryzen 9 5900hs, 16gb of ram, mobile RTX3070, 1tb SSD). When playing any game except for Minecraft, everything works perfectly. 200fps in Rainbow 6 on ultra, 170fps in Forza Horizon 4 on ultra... and 100fps on vanilla Minecraft with all settings at fast, render distance low, and no shaders. With BSL shaders, the story is even worse. Barely 60fps on low shader settings, with a render distance of 6.
I had to manually change Minecraft to run off of the RTX3070, because before it was unplayable. In task manager, when Minecraft is running, I have noticed that only 1 or 2 of the 8gb of the RTX3070 is being utilized, while it says the usage is at 90-100% in the 3d render section. In r6, the memory usage can easily go up to 5 GB on the GPU, but the usage will never hit above 70%.
What is happening? I'm really just confused on how Minecraft of all things is hard to run. Any help is appreciated.
