Low FPS in SWTOR

Hi all, I have an problem which is really bothering me now.

My pc is average, I would even say it is better then average, yet my fps in SWTOR is bad. If I'm doing stuff on planet it is 30-40 then drops to 10, but in 16 man operations it goes down the toilet. I've seen some testing on this site, where combinations of worse CPU and worse graphics card had better fps then me, so it leaves me completely clueless why is this happening.

AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 B55 Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 1 GB
4 GB RAM

Everything should be enough of running game on high settings on planets, on low game should fly. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect to run high with 100 fps in 16 man ops, but I would like to have some fps, when i look at people streaming stuff it looks so much better, game runs smooth, everything, and I doubt they all have best machines in world.

Looking at this chart I rarely see 40 fps, 70 is number I would die for. Damn, atm I would die for 40, 30 even, I don't even care about best look while raiding, can live with bad looking one, just want reliable and stable fps.

So, where is the problem? What can i do to fix this?

well you could try going through the presets of low medium high and Ultra to find which one will give you the desired quailty to fps you prefer the most but if the fps stays that low even on the minimum settings then you should look at a program to monitor what your CPU usage, RAM usage, and GPU usage are during play time then after play time go back and look at GPU usage and CPU usage then if they are normal look at how much RAM was being used as in many MMORPGs which their recommeneded was only 3GB of RAM on my last computer i was maxing out my 6GB of RAM because of a memory leak in a program ... to this that might be why yours is doing poorly.
Try shutting off other programs even if they are to "help preformance" they might be changeing a setting to the worse for SWTOR as SWTOR is just plain out weird that way. Most likely it is just a memory leak somewhere so find it, fix it and/or remove it, then document it so you know about it next time.

SWTOR is using a piece of shit engine, it lags on my system, but I ain't telling you the specs, because you won't believe that it lags. I know what this problem is, the devs are trying to fix it. Lets hope they do so.

well one thing which i have found to be true though is that the older game engines are using a trick that worked with the single core and dual core CPUs to make them faster of programming in which Core to actually use which does not work well on the newer CPUs which can juggle loads around to get better performance thus making them worse on newer CPUs even though the newer CPUs are technically faster the coding is bad. This is due to the programming wanting it to run on the " Primary core " which theoretically should run better though core juggling works better.

I have a fx 8320 overclocked to 4.2 and a GTX 660 TI overlocked as well. I am getting 7 fps in story mode ops. This is pathetic, I get 100 FPS in BF4 on high modes and I get 7 FPS in swtor. THe funny thing too is if I set it to very low and ultra i get the exact same fps.

Its a coding bug as it does not regonize your hardware probably from being " to new " which is usually not a problem but with older game engines it is as they try to identify what you are using so it can optimize the calls to best suit it.

It isn't anything bad about your rig besides that you might need to mod the game a little bit to regonize your computers hardware properly is all. As it does not seem like an uncommon problem there should a be a mod somewhere which fixes it .... that is the only downside to having a gaming rig really.
