My fps changes a lot aswell sometimes its 120 and sometimes it's 60,

(For people familiar with the game - there's also certain spots on the map Cache that make it go down to 60 like T spawn and also on this map the game stutters a lot)

I have high performance and priority set on my windows and task manager and my NVIDIA control panel and I have the recommended launch options for the game.

On task manager when I play CSGO my CPU usage is average 30% and goes up to 40 sometimes.

I use to have normal FPS but I upgraded from a benq 60 hz monitor to an Asus Vg248qe144 hz monitor a couple months ago and I think that's around the time my fps when to being bad

Have you installed the drivers for your new Monitor? If so have you gone into Nvidia Experience and updated the monitor refresh rate to 144hz? And finally, turn off Vsync if you have not done so already. VSync is terrible for CS:GO!

Hope this helps :)

The i7-3770k with the 970 should net you 250fps @ high settings all day long.

looks like a driver issue. have you been updating / messing with the nvidia drivers before you started playing on that rig ? Unless its a fresh driver install on a fresh install of windows I wouldnt trust it.

Wipe your drivers using this tool and reinstall the 361. gtx970 drivers see if that fixes it. Don't trust nvidia's ' clean install' option, it simply doesn't work I recommend using DDU before every driver update.
