Why is my pc can't handle DotA 2? maybe it is in my rig? i got 7 fps and it is not playable at all. Help me guys i want to play DotA 2 at home 🙁
these is my rig:
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 630
CPU: Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80Ghz
RAM: 3 GB (3.00 GB usable)
OS: Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit

well, my pc runs well in league of legends at medium settings. I just can't figure it out why dota 2 is not compatible in my pc. Can you suggest what cpu is the best for upgrading? Btw thanks :)

You are running the Pentium D, it's very slow and a dual core CPU. You need to get a 4670k or another quad core CPU. You should also invest in a 7850, 7750, or a GTX 650 Ti Boost 2gb.

A 4670K and a 7850 for Dota? Talk about overkill. He can do a lot cheaper than that and get Dota 2 running.

An A10 runs at a playable 30FPS all on it's own on low details at 1080p. I doubt the OP is even playing at that resolution on his current setup.

OP, my guess is that your settings are all screwy. Turn down the detail or the resolution a bit and see if it becomes more playable for you.

If Dota 2 and LoL are the games you'll be playing, you could even get an i3 4130 and be more than golden. The AMD FX series will also be a good option. If the 3470 is doable on your budget while including a decent motherboard to go with it, that will absolutely be better, though. Keep in mind you'll probably want to upgrade your RAM as well, so factor in $40-60 for that as well.

The i3 isn't the fastest processor but if all you're doing is playing Dota 2 and games like LoL the i3 is good for you. Your GPU is kind of slow so you may want to sell it and get a GT 640 2gb.

If you could upgrade to the i5 and get a slightly better GPU that would be better, the GT 630 is pretty slow.

I'm gonna make this real simple... The GT 640 is better performance wise. EVGA GT 640 specs, Core Clock: 901MHz CUDA Cores: 384 Memory Size: 2GB. EVGA GT 630 specs, Core Clock: 810MHz CUDA Cores: 96 Memory Size: 2GB. The conclusion is that the GT 640 is better and it is field proven.
