Question Low fps on high end pc

Hey!

I built my rig close to a year ago, and the last 3 months i've been dropping frames in Fortnite. I can get 200-250 by myself, but when there is many opponents in the area my framerate drops to about 50-70 fps.
Any ideas? This is very annoying!

My specs:

Nvidia GTX 1060 OC 3gb
Intel i5-6600k 3.5GHz
HyperX 16gb ram 2400MHz
Win10 64bit

too many moving objects around you are handled by CPU
overclocking or replacing your cpu with 5GHz edition will help

What cpu do you recommend?

I also ran the UserBenchmark and found out both my cpu and gpu were underperforming, what do i do with that? Are there some settings i could change or do i have to get a new one?

Just as a point of note, that's a mid-range CPU and mid-range GPU by roughly 2016 standards.
