Question low fps on rust

been playin rust on 1080p potato graphic setting and its averaging 35fps

cpu: Intel Core i5-9400F
gpu: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

ram: 16gb

i know my pc is old but should it perform better? do i have any software issues?

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

What sort of settings do you have the game running at? Did you try running DDU in Safe Mode to remove all GPU drivers(Intel, AMD and Nvidia) to later install the latest driver sourced from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command?
