Hi!

This is the only game where I'm experiencing very low fps.
I was running graphic settings from very high to ultra (DirectX 12) and it seemed like that changing the settings it barely affected fps.
This PC is really strong there's no doubt and I can run all games with +150 fps up to 250-300 depending on the game and selected map and modes.
But for some reason I had a horrible fps in one area somewhere in Shadowlands and there my fps was 95-100... I will probably uninstall, that's just bad lol.

System specs:
CPU: Intel i9 10850K @ 5 GHz
GPU: RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB
RAM: 32 GB DDR4 3600 MHz CL16
MB: MSI Z490-A PRO
PSU: 750W

Solution
WoW is an older game engine, and like most MMOs is directly tied to CPU performance, particularly single core performance. The game client has to calculate a lot of things, player position, distance between players, skill and ability effect ranges, damage figures, etc. And all of this needs to be coordinated with the server and the other clients and all that detail sent to your game engine to decide what assets and rendering needs to be done by the GPU.

Head to a populated town and watch your FPS plummet, has been a thing since WoW was new.

I understand this, but for me that's just not acceptable and playing with lower than 165 fps when under the 165 Hz refresh rate just doesn't feel good at all. Oh well, I guess I won't be replaying this game after all.
