First thing's first - if you can't stop yourself from punching your equipment, then you probably shouldn't be using a computer at all.

You can't use XMP profiles with Dell's OEM boards. Further, Haswells in general only support up to 1600mhz DDR3. Celerons and some Pentiums only up to 1333. Only the i7 Extreme will support faster RAM. However, Intel doesn't generally benefit much at all from faster RAM.

That you have 12GB DDR3 RAM in the system would seem to suggest a 4GB stick + 8GB stick combo. I can almost guarantee that your system is therefore running in single-channel mode. That DOES hurt performance. A matched pair of sticks would allow things to run in dual-channel mode.

You should run some software such as HWInfo while gaming to monitor CPU, RAM, and GPU utilization. Whatever is hitting 100% on a regular, frequent, or constant basis is probably your weak point.

What resolution are you running at?
