Please keep it to 1 thread
Hi guys to start off here are my specs
I5 9600k
3070
16gb ram (1 stick)

Basically I'm playing gta v and getting 50-70 fps which is pretty low and on new world I'm getting 30 - 70, all drivers are updates has anyone got any suggestions please

Solution
I would go atleast RM or RMx series for rtx 3000 series..

single channel ddr4 3200mt/s at cl16 should be fast like ddr3 1600 at dual channel cl11, but with limited bandwith as dual channel provide 128bit for the memory..

maybe you want to try borrow 2x8gb of ram from your friend if they have some, and see if the fps increases
Also what are your pc specs?

the specs are:
cpu: i5-9600k
RAM: 16gn corsai vengeance 3200MHz
Hard rive: seagate firecuda 510 m.2 500GB PCI express 3.0 NVMe & seagate 1TB baracuda
GPU geforce rtx 3070
Power supply Corsair 650W CV650
Motherboad: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming plus
Cooling: coolmaser hyper 212
OS: windows 10

Agree single channel RAM is going to hurt performance but it’s difficult to say by how much. Trouble is mixing another stick of RAM is not guaranteed to work with the one you have.

I know it’s not what you were asking about but I’d want a better psu than a CV running a 3070.

Yes, single channel memory is really hurting you here.

Only six threads is going to hurt in some of the newer titles. Battlefield 5, 1, etc has been shown to like having at least 7 threads, and the more the better.
Would I be better getting another 16gb stick or 2x8
