Low FPS with a GTX 780ti? What component is to blame?

Hey guys, I bought a GTX 780ti and I'm getting disappointing FPS.

My specs are:
GTX 780ti
i5 2550k 4.0GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
1920 x 1080
Windows 8.1

I recently discovered my 750w PSU was actually considered to be a very bad model, with people saying I'm likely not getting as much wattage as I should be.

I was wondering if upgrading my power supply would help to increase the frame-rate? I've had my current PSU for several years, now.

They both are compatible but an i7 will not do any improvement in terms of gaming performance
Will you do video editing ?

Yes the correct wires will come with that psu
I'd personally wait for x99 motherboards and intel's new cpu that support that socket
If you're gonna do video editing get 16gb of ram
