Low fps with a gtx 970 i5 4460 in cs go

Hello everyone, I'm having issues with my new build in Cs go, it was just recently been put together and at 1080p with everything on high, I get around 140 fps which is weird since other builds has mine get around 200+fps.

Yes I did, i have the latest drivers

I've noticed that while playing cs go, the gpu usage is really low, while in other games its around 99%.

Did you enable anti-aliasing?
Try 8x MSAA or 4x MSAA and see the difference in frame rate.

There's not a lot of fps difference. Even if I change the resolution to like 1280x960 4:3 and I put 2x MSAA and everything on low, I still get around 140-250 fps

I'm running GTX 970 and i5 4690k and I play on everything low and 4:3 resolution. I get 150-250 fps. CS:GO uses your processor more than your GPU, so thats why your GPU usage might be that low. Even if you're getting 140 fps, that is perfectly fine if you have a 144hz monitor.

As long as it maintains above 60 FPS it shouldn't be a problem.

If you play CS:GO really competitively then play at lowest settings, more FPS. CS isn't really a game to play on high 😀.

Did you set your max frames to high on your Graphics Card? Also what are your other specs. But just to get this out of the way, your CPU should be fine, games are graphics intensive, not processor intensive.

Yes, in general. But when it comes to Source games, those use your CPU alot more than your typical game. CPU matters in Source games.

The max frames is set to off on the gpu control panel
