[SOLVED] Low FPS with Asus GTX 1060 OC-Dual

First off heres my specs, I got a pretty dated computer but it's not to bad. All drivers are up to date, fresh OS, everything you can think of has been done.

CPU- i7-3770k @ 3.68 ghz (mobo caps at 3.7 unfortunately)
GPU- Asus GTX 1060 OC-Dual 6GB
RAM- 16gb Corsair Vengeance @ 1600 mhz
MOBO- Biostar b75mu3+ (very shit mobo ik)
PSU- Corsair CX 500W

I've seen benchmarks of my card on YouTube and honestly don't get the same "average FPS" as they get. I can't even play Fortnite at 1080 without it being somewhat un-enjoyable at times because of low FPS. Even playing at 720p on Fortnite I barely average above 100 FPS on the LOWEST settings AND 720p.

Whats funny is the card I had in before was a XFX Radeon 7770 ultra OC edition 2GB VRAM and it seems to run better than this 1060 6GB..

Could it possibly be just because I'm running a DDR3 system? I'm planning on upgrading Mobo, CPU and CPU Cooler and run this 1060 in that system or if I should just upgrade to a 1080 whenever the prices drop down to normal and sell the 1060 later on..?

The CPU isn't bottle-necking, the GPU isn't bottle-necking because it never gets above 50% half the time because I'm running such low graphics settings and being on 720p. At this point I'm just baffled I don't know the issue, I'm starting to wish I would've just waited and grabbed the 1080 instead when it was cheaper. I'll leave a couple benchmarks on Imgur below, if anything is odd or out of the ordinary please put your two cents in..

My buddy with a GeForce GTX 980Ti FTW edition & i5 4590 got a 5110 in 3Dmark.. 1000+ better than mine, I'm confused on this tbh...

That's alright. Click the bench tab in CPU-Z and then do a bench test. And also update your MOBO bios. Seems like Windows patched(corrected) your PC for spectre and meltdown. Some users have reported bad CPU performance issues after the patches.

Temps are perfectly fine, GPU never reaches 65C and CPU never goes over 60C, it averages around 50-58 while gaming sometimes 60 for long periods thats for both CPU and GPU.

I'll give it a try but still don't think its a drivers issue.. I wiped my drives and re-installed windows a week ago, so there's no possible AMD drivers left on here..

Power supply is pretty old, same one since I built the system back like 2011-2012 or so.
I don't have a GSync monitor but I'd like one currently play on a 60hz, never enabled v-sync because its trash especially with 60hz.

Windows is set to High Performance and Nvidia I don't see a preset for Max power but I have messed with the settings and made everything that can be set to "high performance" instead of "High Quality". I've messed with just about everything I can to try and make this thing run better.. Changing resolutions to 720 still doesn't increase performance so I don't know what will..

Your PSU is enough to drive you PC but the symptoms you mention point to inadequate power delivery to either the GPU or the CPU. As for the GPU, your GPU usage should be in the high 90's.

Do you have any other PSU to test your PC with?

The reason my GPU runs at such low percent is because I'm not pushing anything to it. I have everything on the lowest settings and in 720p HD not even 1080. If I ran Fortnite in 1080 it'd be around 90-99% but again still get inconsistent frames below 100. I figured I'd try playing in 720 to get better frames and yet still don't get much better average FPS.

Your unigine benchmark looks fine. I think the problem is with your CPU. Need more analysis. Do a CPU benchmark alone. Use something like Passmark or just CPU-Z bench. Monitor temps, wattage and clock speed of CPU side by side using HWinfo.

Heres the benchmark for CPU-Z's.
